A few weeks have passed since Cyclone Idai ravaged the Southern African Republics of Zimbabwe, Malawi and Mozambique. What makes this situation both tragic and pressing is not merely because of the loss of countless lives and the crippling of social infrastructure, but the fact that the Southern Region of Africa is only three years removed from a drought courtesy of El Nino.

We are calling for a month of fundraisers and benefits throughout the United States of America, other parts of the Americas, the rest of the Western Hemisphere and Western Europe, beginning April 25, carrying into African Liberation Day Weekend on May 25, 2019.

Our efforts will be in partnership with the Southern African Development Community (the region’s diplomatic body) the governments and peoples of Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Malawi, and grass roots efforts in our community genuinely concerned about the welfare of the nations aforementioned.

The theme is "A Month of Unity, Solidarity and Good Will with the peoples of Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Malawi." The launching event will be at Union Temple Baptist Church, (1225 7W Street S.E. Washington, DC), Tuesday April 23 at 6:30pm.

We look forward to engaging in a level of selfless collaboration with organized formations, institutional frameworks and key individuals who understand the immeasurable value of Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Malawi in steering Mother Africa towards total stability and self-sufficiency.

The effort is co-sponsored by APPEAL Inc., the Mass Emphasis Children's History and Theater Company, and BitMari.

You can support this effort from anywhere by going to: GoFundMe

Workshop 4 of 8 in this Spring Financial Literacy Workshop Series

How to Escape the Rat Race?

Battle your way out of the Rat Race by acquiring property, stocks, businesses and precious metals. You're not just playing against each other; you're playing against the housing market, the stock market and even Mother Nature.

CASHFLOW® starts you in a typical 9-to-5 job (that's not the fun part) and takes you on a journey to build up an arsenal of assets that will propel you into the fast track where real wealth is built (the fun part).

CASHFLOW not only teaches you how to invest and acquire assets but most importantly how you behave within investing scenarios. You can test out strategies for building wealth you might never try in real life. If you're a saver, try aggressive investing. If you're a risk-taker, try slow growth. Win and learn!

Esusus: The Power of Traditional African Saving Systems in the 21st Century

Utilizing the wisdom and legacy of our Ancestors, we can successfully:

        • Eliminate our dependency on oppressive financial systems.

        • Build trust, unity and collaboration within our community.

        • Challenge injected oppressive rhetoric like, "Black people can't be trusted with money".

        • Heal deeply embedded wounds related to money matters.

        • Demonstrate Kujichagulia and Cooperative Economics.

        • Model “Sankofa” for our children.

Please join APPEAL for an insightful and inspiring presentation on the value and impact of forming and participating in an Esusu.

Frank Narmer John and Diarra Markham will share their experiences and strategies for establishing and sustaining a prosperous Esusu.  Their community Esusu has been in existence for 14 years strong.
