Introducing the Cultural Imperative Program (CIP)
with Atlantis Browder
The Cultural Imperative Program (CIP) is an innovative educational initiative by IKG, designed to empower high school students of color through the exploration of African history, culture, and consciousness. Grounded in the transformative teachings of The Browder File by Anthony T. Browder, the program fosters cultural awareness, critical thinking, and a deeper connection to heritage, helping students build self-worth and a sense of purpose.
CIP is a Saturday program featuring a dynamic and interactive curriculum. Over the course of 11 engaging sessions, students—known as Browder Scholars—delve into activities such as reading, writing, thought-provoking discussions, and creative expression. Each session is rooted in historically accurate interpretations of Africa’s profound contributions to humanity and civilization.
Through CIP, students develop the ability to challenge negative stereotypes, cultivate self-awareness, and sharpen critical thinking skills. The program empowers participants to become confident, culturally grounded leaders equipped to make meaningful contributions to their communities and beyond.
At its core, CIP is far more than an educational program—it is a transformative journey of self-discovery, a celebration of cultural identity, and an urgent call to embrace and honor the enduring richness of African heritage.
