Presenter: Mama Marimba Ani is the author of Yurugu and Let the Circle be Unbroken. She describes herself as an African Centered Cultural Scientist who began her political development in 1963 as a field organizer in the State of Mississippi for Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC). She came under the tutelage of Nana John Henrik Clarke, who influenced her ideological growth as an African Sovereignist. She is the founding director of The African Heritage Afterschool Program (AHAP) from 1983 to the present.
