Nubia: The Cradle of Civilization:

It’s legacy, language, and struggle to survive cultural cleansing and marginalization


This will be a virtual presentation on Saturday, August 29th, 2020

11am - 1:00pm


The presenter Brother Nuraddin Abdulmannan is a legendary linguist, educator, and activist in the DC Area originally from the Sudan. DC Area originally from the Sudan. His mission is to protect and preserve the people and the culture of the Nubia region in Sudan and Egypt. He is the leader of the Rescue Nubia campaign whose aim is to protect his native Nubia homeland from destruction by dams, Arabization, marginalization, isolation, and relocation.

He is the author of a Nubian language and grammar book and since developed software to integrate Nubian characters into English language keyboards for Mac and standard computers. He has done all of this work under his organization, Nubia Project
