A Tribute to Dr. Aminifu R. Harvey

Baba Aminifu, as he is affectionately called, the author of A Reader of Afri-Centric Theory and Practice: Philosophical and Humanistic Writings of Aminifu R. Harvey, published on Nov 1, 2018, transitioned to the land of the ancestors on April 22, 2022.

Dr. Aminifu R. Harvey was a trailblazing Pan Africanist/Humanist, dedicated father and grandfather, a pioneering social scientist in the area of Afri-centric theory and practice, and a member of APPEAL Inc. He published the first social work article on Afri-centric theory and practice. He founded MAAT Center for Human and Organization Enhancement, a non-profit organization, to provide psycho-social services to youths and families that therapeutically considered the impact of our historical trauma.
