VIRTUAL WORKSHOP:

JOURNEY THROUGH THE

HISTORY OF BLACK WALL STREET

“Many of the descendents of freed slaves ... considered it a territory of hope, and a place where they could create their own opportunities ... For Negroes it had a traditional association with freedom which had entered their folklore.”
~Ralph Waldo Ellison (Black Author on the symbol that was Black Wall Street

We are excited to announce our next APPEAL event: Journey Through the History of Black Wall Street

We proudly present host speaker C.R. Gibbs as he takes us on a journey through the history of Black Wall Street; some of the most successful, wealthy, and self-sustaining black communities in America.

We will examine the birth of these communities that stood as a beacon of hope for many individuals living in unequal society, as well as the unjust racism and oppression that led to the subsequent bombing and destruction of these communities.

We hope you leave this event with a better understanding of a small piece of black history that we can leverage to help us start building communities with the practices of Black Wall Street once more.

Communities where we can Own Black, Buy Black, and Be Black!
