Gentrification: The Economics behind the Changing Complexion of Urban America

Gentrification is a hot topic in the Washington, DC area and in urban areas around the country, as many traditionally African-American communities have seen major changes and displacement in recent years.  In this workshop, we will take a comprehensive approach in addressing this hot topic, focusing on the socio-economics that underlie what we see on the surface, and also addressing the phenomenon from a historical perspective.  This workshop will be facilitated by members of APPEAL's financial literacy team who are knowledgeable and experienced in this arena.

Presenter: Shango Taha
